Description A heap buffer overflow exists in the regular expression functions of the database management system. This occurs when processing text that fails encoding validation, leading to unanticipated data growth during round-tripping through pg wchar. An attacker can exploit this to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the operating system user running the database.
Recommendations Update to version 18.5 or later. Update to version 17.11 or later. Update to version 16.15 or later. Update to version 15.19 or later. Update to version 14.24 or later.
