Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the mwifiex wifi driver where the
mwifiex ret 802 11 associate() function unconditionally sets the ps state variable to PS STATE AWAKE when processing an association command response. If an EVENT SLEEP occurs while the association command is in flight, the PS STATE PRE SLEEP state is overwritten, preventing the driver from sending the required sleep-confirm command. This results in a state where subsequent scan start commands are acknowledged but the firmware fails to generate scan result events. Consequently, scan requests never finish, and further requests from userspace fail with an -EBUSY error. This behavior was specifically observed on IW412 hardware during multiple roam iterations.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
