Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the memory management compaction component where the
compaction free() function does not properly handle failure cases from the free pages prepare() function. If free pages prepare() fails, the affected pages might still be added back to cc->freepages for future use. This is problematic because these pages could be marked as PageHWPoison or identified by free page is bad(), potentially leading to data corruption.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
