Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A crash occurs in the RISC-V kernel when reading a word from the stack during a kretprobe. This happens because the
arch rethook trampoline function fails to save the stack pointer sp in the struct pt regs, instead decrementing sp for its own local stack. Consequently, the regs get kernel stack nth() function receives an arbitrary value for regs->sp, leading to a kernel paging request failure.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
