Description An issue exists in the dell-laptop platform driver where the dell init() function fails to properly clean up resources during an initialization error. When the function initializes resources after dell setup rfkill(), such as the optional touchpad LED, keyboard backlight LED, battery hook, debugfs directory, and dell-laptop notifier, a failure in later LED or backlight registration causes the error path to only remove the battery hook and rfkill resources. This results in the notifier, debugfs directory, keyboard backlight LED, and optional touchpad LED remaining registered even after dell init() returns an error.

Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
