Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A NULL pointer dereference occurs during the unmount process. The function ocfs2 journal shutdown() frees the journal and sets the osb->journal variable to NULL. Subsequently, when the Virtual File System (VFS) evicts remaining cached inodes, the execution flow through ocfs2 evict inode(), ocfs2 clear inode(), ocfs2 checkpoint inode(), and ocfs2 ci fully checkpointed() attempts to dereference osb->journal, leading to a system crash.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
