Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the mtd: slram component where the register device() function links a new slram mtdlist entry before all required state is allocated. If a subsequent allocation, memremap(), or mtd device register() fails, the partially initialized entry persists on the global list. This can lead to a situation where a later cleanup process dereferences or frees invalid state from the failed entry.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
