Description A memory leak occurs in the Linux kernel within the xe vm madvise ioctl() function. The function allocates madvise range.vmas using get vmas(). When the L2 flush validation path for PAT madvise rejects certain SVM or userptr ranges after get vmas() has succeeded, the execution jumps directly to madv fini. This bypasses the free vmas path and the kfree(madvise range.vmas) call, resulting in the VMA array being leaked during each failed ioctl operation.

Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
