Description An issue exists in the SMB client where the Direct I/O (DIO) path causes a delayed dentry reference-count release. This occurs when the unmount path is triggered before the cleanup work is completed, leading to a busy dentry warning during the unmount process. The problem is specifically related to how dentry references are handled in the cifs module during unbuffered writes. Technical details involve the interaction between netfs unbuffered write, cifs kill sb(), and the shrink dcache for umount function.
