Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the mma8452 accelerometer driver where the
mma8452 read() function fails to properly handle I2C read errors. Specifically, if the i2c smbus read i2c block data() function fails while mma8452 set runtime pm state() succeeds, mma8452 read() returns 0. This leads the caller function, mma8452 read raw(), to incorrectly assume the read operation was successful, resulting in the use of a buffer containing uninitialized stack memory.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
