Description An issue exists in the ocfs2 file system where the ocfs2 trim mainbm() function improperly validates FITRIM ranges. The function trims the global bitmap in cluster units but only checks the sb->s blocksize for range validation. On filesystems where the cluster size is larger than the block size, a FITRIM range that is at least one block but smaller than one cluster is accepted and shifted to a length of zero. This causes subsequent arithmetic operations to underflow, potentially leading to trimming beyond the requested range.

Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
