Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the drm/gpusvm component where Virtual Memory Areas (VMAs) marked with
VM IO or VM PFNMAP are not backed by struct page objects. Since GPUSVM requires these objects to operate correctly, the get pages() function, which relies on hmm range fault() to resolve struct pages for the target range, fails. Attempting to create a Shared Virtual Memory (SVM) range on these VMAs can lead to repeated failures and potentially trigger an infinite loop within a driver's page-fault handler.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
