Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the GPIO PCH driver where the pch irq type() function, registered as the irq chip .irq set type callback, uses a regular spinlock t via spin lock irqsave(). In PREEMPT RT kernels, a regular spinlock t is an rtmutex-backed sleeping lock. Because this callback is invoked from a non-sleepable context while the caller holds desc->lock (a raw spinlock t) with hardirqs disabled, acquiring a sleeping lock is invalid and can lead to a kernel bug.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
