Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the KVM s390 PCI component regarding memory accounting for pinned and unpinned pages. The account mem() and unaccount mem() functions call get uid(), which increments the reference count of struct user struct without a corresponding call to free uid() to decrement it. Additionally, pages were accounted or unaccounted against the current->mm, which is problematic because unaccount mem() may be executed from a different process context than the one that originally pinned the pages.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
