Description An issue exists in the netfs component during writeback where a failure in folio queue allocation leads to an ENOMEM (Out of Memory) error. This failure occurs when the system cannot allocate memory for the queue, resulting in a warning in the netfs writepages() function. The problem is addressed by implementing a mempool and utilizing gfp t flags in rolling buffer functions to ensure memory is allocated correctly, specifically when gfp is not equal to GFP KERNEL. Additionally, the gfp value is now stored in the netfs io request struct for use in both requests and subrequests to eliminate sleeping loops.
