Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
openssl encrypt versions prior to 1.4.0
Description
A path traversal issue exists in the
is safe path() function. The plugin id parameter is not properly sanitized before the software constructs the plugin configuration directory path. This allows an attacker to use path traversal sequences, such as ../, within the plugin id to access arbitrary directories outside of the intended plugin directory.Recommendations
Update to version 1.4.0 or later.
As a temporary mitigation, restrict or validate the input provided to the
plugin id parameter to prevent the use of path traversal sequences.Exploit
