Description
A command injection issue exists in the FileSystemService.mjs component of the ai/mcp/server/file-system MCP server. The
checkSyntax() and runPlaywrightTest() functions unsafely interpolate the absolutePath variable into shell commands. This allows for arbitrary operating system command execution if an AI agent is induced to invoke these tools.Recommendations
Apply the fix provided in commit 88c77fc.
As a temporary mitigation, restrict the use of the
checkSyntax() and runPlaywrightTest() functions.Exploit
