Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the rb allocate cpu buffer() function where the bpage->order variable was not initialized, defaulting to 0. This causes problems for ring-buffers with sub-buffers larger than the PAGE SIZE (the smallest unit of memory management in the kernel) because the free buffer page() function relies on this value during the memory freeing process.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
