Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the
ntb netdev rx handler() function where the received skb (socket buffer) is passed to the network stack before a replacement is allocated. If the allocation fails, no buffer is reposted, which reduces the RX queue depth. Repeated allocation failures can eventually lead to a complete stall in packet reception while the interface remains active.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
