Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the ring-buffer component where the
ring buffer subbuf order set() function allows changing the sub-buffer order even when resizing is disabled. Since this function frees buffer pages, a non-consuming reader may encounter a use-after-free condition during the execution of the rb advance iter() function. Use-after-free is a memory corruption issue that occurs when an application continues to use a pointer after it has been freed.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
