Description An issue exists in the Linux kernel where the damos quota score() function can trigger a division by zero error if the target value is zero. This can be triggered by users through the DAMON SAMPLE MTIER and DAMON LRU SORT components. Specifically, in DAMON SAMPLE MTIER, users can set the target value using the node0 mem used bp and node0 mem free bp parameters. Because the system does not validate these parameters to prevent zero values, a division by zero occurs, leading to a system crash.

Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability. As a temporary workaround, avoid setting the node0 mem used bp or node0 mem free bp parameters to zero when using the DAMON SAMPLE MTIER module.
