Description An issue exists in the Linux kernel where damon pa migrate() and damos va migrate() isolate folios into a local list before calling damon migrate pages(). If the target nid is invalid, such as the default NUMA NO NODE (-1), damon migrate pages() returns early without returning the folios to the Least Recently Used (LRU) list. This causes the folios to remain isolated with an extra reference from folio isolate lru(), keeping them off the LRU as long as the mapping exists and potentially pinning the pages after the mapping is removed.

Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
