Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A memory leak occurs in the
ax88179 178a USB network driver when the interface has NETIF F SG enabled. If the skb linearize() function fails within the ax88179 tx fixup() function, the system returns NULL without freeing the socket buffer (skb). Consequently, the usbnet start xmit() function fails to free the original skb, leading to a memory leak for every transmitted frame that fails linearization, typically occurring under memory pressure.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
