Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A Use-After-Free (UAF) issue exists in the s390/ism component. This occurs because an ism interrupt handler can remain active in parallel with the
ism dev exit() function, leading to the access of data structures that have already been freed. Use-After-Free is a condition where a program continues to use a pointer after it has been freed, which can lead to crashes or unauthorized memory access.Recommendations
As a temporary mitigation, restrict the use of the
ism dev exit() function until the system is updated. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.Exploit
