Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A flaw exists in the XFS file system where the
xfs buf free() function fails to properly handle a NULL b addr value. When the xfs buf alloc backing mem() function fails, xfs buf free() is triggered while the b addr variable remains NULL. This leads to the execution of the folio put() path, which subsequently calls virt to folio(NULL), resulting in an invalid address dereference and a kernel crash.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
