Description A deadlock situation can occur in the Linux kernel’s ath12k driver while flushing management frames. This happens when a management frame is queued for transmission and ath12k mac op flush() is called to flush pending frames. The process waits for transmission completion while holding a wiphy lock, leading to a deadlock if the transmission work item cannot run. This issue manifests as failures to flush management transmit queues and potential association aborts. The deadlock is avoided by proactively running the queued work item using wiphy work flush(). The issue occurs when a virtual interface (vif) is NULL.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
