Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A flaw exists in the Linux kernel's btrfs zlib implementation related to S390 hardware acceleration. Specifically, a folio leak occurs due to a missing folio put() call within the copy data into buffer() function after the refactoring of the S390x hardware acceleration buffer preparation. This issue arises from the removal of a folio release mechanism present in earlier code, leading to a memory leak when handling folios in the hardware acceleration path. The root cause is the absence of a call to release the filemap folio.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
