Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw within the mac80211 module related to the handling of receive (RX) operations in the OCB (OCB) context. Specifically, the ieee80211 ocb rx no sta() function incorrectly assumes a valid channel context before the interface has fully joined the OCB network. This can lead to issues in the RX path when the interface is not yet operational. The issue is addressed by skipping RX peer handling when the interface is not joined, preventing warnings and potential errors.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
