Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the
regmap sdw mbq poll busy() function where the system attempts to call the readable reg callback without verifying if it is set. Because this callback is optional, certain drivers like es9356 and tac5xx2-sdw create an MBQ regmap without one. When a device returns a COMMAND IGNORED response, the kernel attempts to execute a NULL function pointer, leading to a system crash.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
