Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the s390/vfio ccw component where channel programs and their contained Command Chain Words (CCWs) are processed recursively. The vfio-ccw logic divides these channel programs into segments upon encountering a Transfer-In-Channel (TIC) CCW, and the total number of segments contributes to a global limit. Without a specific limit on the number of segments, the recursive processing could be exhausted.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
