Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux Kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A NULL pointer dereference exists in the
drm/panthor component. The function panthor fw load section entry() fails to handle zero-sized firmware sections correctly by skipping the creation of a Buffer Object (BO) when the virtual address range is empty. This results in the section->mem variable remaining NULL. When the system later executes reload or unplug paths, it iterates through the firmware sections and attempts to dereference section->mem, leading to a system crash.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
