Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the ASOC SOF ipc4-pcm component where IPC errors during pipeline state changes were not handled correctly. If the firmware state crashed or an IPC timeout occurred, the system failed to continue the pipeline trigger. In cases of firmware crashes, the kernel must complete state changes to reset internal settings for subsequent DSP boots. IPC timeouts have been attributed to system scheduling blockages where the firmware processed the message, but the reply was blocked by factors outside the SOF stack.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
