Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An out-of-bounds write exists in the
maar res walk() function. The function uses the wi->num cfg variable as an index for the fixed-size wi->cfg array but performs the capacity check only after filling an entry. If walk system ram range() reports more than 16 memory ranges, the system writes one struct maar config beyond the array boundary before the WARN ON() mechanism prevents the index from advancing further.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
