Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the
wlcore wifi driver where the firmware version check for IGTK (Integrity Group Temporal Key) causes the number of available ciphers to decrease upon every boot when using outdated firmware. This behavior specifically affects wl128x chips, as the check was primarily designed for wl18xx chips. This leads to a failure in setting keys and triggers an endless loop of hardware recovery and restarts when connecting to an access point.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
