Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A Use-After-Free (UAF) condition exists in the hv vmbus drivers. This occurs when a driver is probed through the
driver attach() function, causing the bus match() callback to be executed without holding the device lock. Consequently, the driver override field is accessed without proper locking. Use-After-Free is a memory corruption issue where an application continues to use a pointer after it has been freed, potentially leading to crashes or arbitrary code execution.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
