Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the RISC-V architecture implementation where the function vec check unaligned access speed all cpus() is marked with init. This function operates within a kthread and may not complete before the system finishes booting and free initmem() unmaps the .init.text section. Because the function calls the Supervisor Binary Interface (SBI) to probe unaligned access speed, any delay in the SBI response can cause the kthread to remain active after the memory region has been freed. This leads to an instruction page fault when the system attempts to fetch instructions from the freed memory region.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
