Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
PREVAIL versions prior to 0.2.4
Description
In the Prevail eBPF verifier, the
EbpfTransformer::add() function fails to update offset variables when the destination register contains a non-singleton typeset, which refers to a state where two or more pointer types are possible simultaneously. This leads to bounds checks using outdated offsets, allowing specially crafted BPF programs to pass verification and potentially cause memory corruption during runtime through out-of-bounds memory accesses.Recommendations
Update to version 0.2.4.
