Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
MongoDB C Driver (affected versions not specified)
Description
A memory-handling error exists in the BSON-to-JSON conversion helpers. This issue occurs when a binary field is encoded and the output is truncated at a length limit configured by the caller, leading to a heap buffer overflow where a small number of bytes are written past the end of the buffer. An unprivileged party providing document content can exploit this to alter data outside the intended buffer.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
