Description
A stack-based buffer overflow exists in the
ipmi-oem tool. This issue occurs within the output dell system info cmc ipv6 info function located in ipmi-oem/ipmi-oem-dell.c, specifically when using the cmc-ipv6-info subcommand of dell get-system-info. A stack-based buffer overflow is a condition where a program writes more data to a buffer located on the stack than the buffer is allocated to hold, potentially leading to crashes or arbitrary code execution.Recommendations
Update to version 1.6.19 or later.
