Description A flaw in the containers/storage library allows a crafted tar archive containing a malicious whiteout header (e.g. victim/.wh.) to replace the extraction destination directory with an arbitrary file. This occurs when the archive is processed by the UnpackLayer(), ApplyLayer(), or ApplyUncompressedLayer() functions within storage/pkg/archive.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
