Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the
drm/amdgpu component where the KIQ ring is skipped by the force-completion loop in the amdgpu device pre asic reset() function because it uses a polling fence and has no scheduler set to true. Since the hardware fence value in wb (GTT) memory survives a MODE1 reset while fence drv.sync seq continues to advance, the first KIQ submission following a reset may poll indefinitely for a sequence that is never written back.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
