Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the f2fs file system where a valid block count leak occurs during data block allocation failure. In the
allocate data block() function, when a new data block is being allocated (where dn->data blkaddr equals NULL ADDR), the inc valid block count() function is called to increment total valid block count and i blocks. If the subsequent f2fs allocate data block() function fails, the system returns an error without reverting these increments, resulting in a permanent leak of the block counts.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
