Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A race condition exists in the f2fs file system that can lead to a potential deadloop within the f2fs fsync node pages() function. This occurs when one thread performs an fsync operation via f2fs do sync file() and f2fs fsync node pages(), while another thread simultaneously executes f2fs setattr(), leading to f2fs truncate() and the subsequent invalidation of mapping pages. This sequence can cause is node folio to consistently return false and the condition atomic && !marked to remain true, triggering a continuous retry loop.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
