Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the f2fs filesystem within the free segment range() function. The curseg evacuation loop only iterates up to NR CURSEG PERSIST TYPE, which fails to include non-persistent in-memory curseg types such as CURSEG COLD DATA PINNED and CURSEG ALL DATA ATGC. Because these in-memory curseg types occupy active physical segments at runtime, failing to evacuate them during a filesystem shrink can lead to out-of-bounds I/O when subsequent writes are attempted on the truncated storage range.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
