Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the
qla2xxx SCSI driver where the qla2x00 fw state show() function fails to properly handle cases where the chip is down or EEH (Enhanced Error Handling) is busy. In these scenarios, the function incorrectly re-issues a mailbox command via qla2x00 get firmware state() outside of the optrom mutex lock during ISP reset or PCI error recovery. This unsynchronized mailbox attempt can lead to the adapter hanging.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
