Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the KVM arm64 implementation regarding the global VNCR mapping counter. This counter is used to determine if an L1 provided VNCR page is mapped in L0 during TLB (Translation Lookaside Buffer) invalidation. The tracking mechanism is flawed because checking the counter to decide if a TLB needs invalidation can lead to missed invalidations. Additionally, an L1 vcpu attempting to invalidate its own TLB may fail to invalidate the VNCR pseudo TLB if the page is not mapped in L0 at that time.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
