Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the KVM s390 component where the
keyop function fails to use the mmu lock when reading gmap->asce. Because gmap->asce is modified under a write lock by the gmap set limit() function, the keyop function may use a stale value during execution. Since KVM S390 KEYOP and KVM S390 VM MEM LIMIT SIZE can run concurrently, this race condition can lead to memory corruption.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
