Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
In the KVM s390 component, the
kvm inject pfault token() function fails to fully initialize the kvm s390 irq structure on the stack. While .type and .u.ext.ext params2 are set, the ext params and pad fields retain stale stack values. Although these values do not leak to the guest during interrupt delivery, a host user can access this sensitive data using migration ioctls. This issue also affects the inti data structure.Recommendations
Zero-initialize the
kvm s390 irq and inti data structures.Exploit
