Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the powerpc memory management where the vmemmap populate compound pages() function incorrectly tracks addr pfn. The addr pfn variable is advanced manually in parallel with addr, but the increments do not match the number of PFNs (Page Frame Numbers) covered by each step in the vmemmap address space. This discrepancy can lead to the calculation of an incorrect pfn offset, causing the system to make incorrect head or tail page mapping decisions for compound-page positions.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
