Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A pointer dereference issue exists in the fsl-edma tracing component of the dmaengine. The fsl edma events store a pointer to a
struct fsl edma engine in the ringbuffer, which is dereferenced when a log entry is printed. If the pointer is no longer valid at the time of printing, it can lead to a system crash. This can be triggered via event injection by writing to the events/fsl edma/edma writeb/inject file in the /sys/kernel/tracing directory.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
